What’s up food lovers! It’s Shaun-Michael here bringing you another Cheap Food Rundown. I hope you’re a fan of Mexican food like I am, because I’m bringing you this report from one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in Michigan. This place is amazing, it was one of the first places I went to have Mexican food and I haven’t stopped going since.
Mi Pueblo is a restaurant located on 7278 Dix St, Detroit, MI.
Let’s get on with the Cheap Food Rundown.
CHEAP FOOD RUNDOWN!
Appetizer: Chips and Salsa (Free)
No Mexican restaurant is complete without salsa, and Mi Pueblo offers free chips and salsa as an appetizer for you to enjoy. They have two salsas for you two enjoy, one mild and one spicy. If you’re like me though you’ll toss the mild one too your friends and keep the spicy one all too yourself. The salsa is rich with flavor, and the spice is just right to get your taste buds ready for the main course.
Appetizer: Super Nacho (Small $6.50)
Now sometimes chips and salsa aren’t enough to get you ready for your entree. This time I went with some friends and we indulged in some Super Nachos. The Super Nacho are tortilla chips covered in seasoned ground beef, with melted cheese on top, sprinkled with jalapenos. This appetizer will take your taste buds and pummel them into the ground in the best possible way.
Entree: Quesadilla de Tinga (Dinner $9.25)
On to the main event, the quesadilla de tinga which translates to spicy shredded chicken quesadilla. Now let me tell you that this item is my favorite thing on the menu, it is like no other quesadilla I have ever had before. I always try other quesadillas, but this one will always have my heart and stomach. The quesadilla dinner is served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. For this dinner you get all that with three quesadillas. Now the spice of this meal is perfection in my opinion. It’ll get you heating up, while giving an uppercut to your taste buds. Now what better way to cool down then from one of Mi Pueblo’s specialty drinks.
Drinks: Horchata (Large $2.75)
Horchata is by far my favorite Mexican drink to have. It is sweet and has a cinnamon taste to it. This rice water drink is perfection in quenching your thirst when consuming Mexican food.
Mi Pueblo is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. This place was one of the first Mexican restaurants that I went to during college, and I haven’t stopped since. It is the perfect place for a college student to go grab a meal during break, or go get food and drinks with friends. My meal ended up being $18.50 plus tax, and I didn’t even finish all my food, but you bet I brought it home. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out.
